What is a Fireside on Spiritual Reload?
“O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh
Jeremiah 10:23
to direct his steps.”
If you have ever sat beside a campfire and watched the sparks dance in the air, or warmed your hands and feet in front of an hearth, then you’ll understand why we chose to write these short reflections ‘by the Fireside.’
Meditation on the words of God will guide a man to wisdom even if he has no other education. This makes these ~500 word “Firesides” unique, because they stem from Scripture. This also makes them universal in application, because the Scripture which sparks them.
“Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD;”
Jeremiah 23:29
Fire within; fire without. For it is not reading alone that makes a man blessed:
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
