God’s Bill of Rights

For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.  Romans 14:17

God rules in people’s hearts, and His assets are not money and property, but clean living, forgiven sins, and assurance of salvation.

Jesus Christ should be the king in the life He has saved. The dying thief addressed him as “Lord.” (Luke 23:42) Paul, upon his conversion en route to Damascus, cried, “Lord.” (Acts 9:6) Thomas the apostle fell at his feet and declared, “My Lord and my God.” (John 20:28) Is he your “Lord?”
When a good king’s policies are supported, they prosper his subjects. An evil king seeks only his own wealth, but the Lord Jesus is the Righteous Judge, and calls those that follow Him, friends. Christ wants His people to be provided for, and satisfied. To do this, He supplies the most important spiritual staples as His ‘bill of rights’:
  1. The freedom to live clean and right. (Righteousness by faith)
  2. The freedom to have your sins forgiven for free, forever. (Peace with God)
  3. The freedom to know the truth about eternity. (Joy of assurance)

With such great freedom, should come such great loyalty to God and His kingdom. Thank You, Lord, for your care of those who trust in You.
